Clinical Correspondence

Project lead: Anthea Ward

The aim of the project was to improve access to clinical information, specifically the outpatient letters that are created by Health Information Service. Previously letters were dictated, typed, then filed in the patient medical record.

The project has seen the paper copy of the letter replaced with an electronic copy that is uploaded to TrakCare's Electronic Patient Record (ERP). This allows instant access for all clinicians across the 3 campuses.

The project went live in September 2008 and 5,000 documents a month are made available electronically via MedTrak.
