Electronic Risk Assessment

This project was commenced in October 2006 and is currently in its second phase. The first phase of the project has successfully designed, developed and implemented an electronic nutrition risk screening tool.  The tool allows for the rapid calculation of nutrition risk and automatically initiates communication with the relevant dietitian for further follow-up and assessment. This allows for early dietetic treatment in patients who are at high risk of malnutrition. To date there have been some fantastic results in both in and out-patient populations. 

The second phase of the project will focus on the development of an integrated, electronic nutrition management pathway.
